Customers' shock as popular Doncaster cafe announces 'indefinite' closure

The Lakeside Cafe at Askern has been a popular stopping off point for walkers and cyclists heading to Askern Lake for many years.
But bosses have said the venue will close its doors this Wednesday.

Hide AdAnnouncing the closure on Facebook, a post said: “It is with great sadness that we are closing the cafe indefinitely from Wednesday 16 December.
“The staff and myself would like to thank you all for your continuing support and wish you all a Happy Christmas and the best of new years.”
Customers reacted with shock to the closure.
Julian P Cundiff wrote: “Sorry to hear that. You've been a wonderful place to stop and chill. Will miss you all and your kindness.”
Susan Green wrote: “This is heart breaking so many people will miss you, I was so looking forward to seeing you in new year, where can I go on my bike now? Take care every one in the new year.”
