Teachers from West Road Primary Academy have become the latest to put together a comedy video to cheer up their pupils during lockdown.
Staff at the school, in Moorends, filmed themselves singing a customised verions of The Rembrandts song I’ll Be There For You – best known as the theme music from the 1990s sitcom Friends, which is currently enjoying a comeback.
Teachers dressed up in comedy clothing to sing specially adapted words in the song, changed to We’ll Be There for You, with words revamped to represent the current situation.
Adele Ward, school business manager, said the staff had created the video for the school’s parents and children.
She said: “We are so proud and honoured to serve our community in Moorends and wanted to reach out to the children who we know will be struggling not coming to school. We wanted to show them that we are still here waiting for them to return.”
