Brother leads tributes to Lewis Williams after fatal shooting on Doncaster street

Lewis Williams was killed in a gun attack near Farmfoods on Wath Road, Mexborough, yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were deployed to the scene at around 5pm, with armed officers flooding the area in the aftermath of the shooting.

Hide AdThe crime scene was cordoned off and remained under police guard overnight as detectives attempted to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
There is still a huge police presence in the area this morning.
South Yorkshire Police has not yet released any details on the murder probe, including whether any arrests have yet been made.
Tributes have been paid to Lewis online, with his brother Jason Williams posting on Facebook: “Proper love him so much, best thing in world he was, honestly the proudest brother of all time I was.”

“Had an heart of gold that lad, would do anything for anyone. Really well pleasant manned young man.
“Thank you for everything you've done with my kids mate they will never forget you nor will I. Take it easy up there matey. Until we meet again.”
James Pettinger added: “I met Lewis a couple of years back, lovely lad. Had a proper laugh with him, such a shame too young.”
