Numerous arrests for assault and other offences after St Leger Day at Doncaster Racecourse

Officers from Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team reported a busy night in the town centre following the annual event.
A spokesman said last night: “Numerous arrests have been made already this evening for assault and other offences.”

Hide AdIn the 24 hours from midday yesterday to midday today officers dealt with: 29 arrests, being sworn at (lots), found ten missing people, took one child in to police protection, drove an ambulance to hospital so that both crew could look after the patient, recorded 80 crimes, cleaned the van's cage twice, once after it was covered in blood, other after it was spat in, responded to 148 incidents, given first aid to injured people, and were asked for lifts home by drunk people.
“Amongst that we've been handed a mobile phone which was found on Hallgate, which we'd like to reunite with its owner.”
