The owner of a Doncaster animal rescue centre has made a heart-wrenching desperate plea for funding, warning the farm will have to shut down within weeks unless cash is found.

Rooster Farm and Rescue, which is based in Bentley, is struggling to stay afloat – and owners Jodie Swann and Aaron Kincaid have called for urgent donations so the centre can keep caring for hundreds of animals.

Making the appeal on Facebook she wrote: “With everything that has gone on over the last couple of months - fire, theft and struggling to keep the rescue afloat, we are looking to shut Rooster Farm due to lack of help, support and funding from the government.
