The Miners Doncaster Volleyball Club set for National League promotion battle
Currently third in Division Three North of the National League, the former Yorkshire League club are hoping to secure a top two finish and begin climbing the English pyramid system.
“We finished last year on a major high by beating the previously unbeaten Stockport, who are also top of the league,” said chairman Jozef Balazs.
“This is the team to beat.

“Both games were crucial wins for us to secure our place in the top two. Now we just need to maintain it.”
The Miners, formed in 2015, have two games in hand on Stockport and second-placed York and could go top of the table with victory in their next two games, against Haughton Darlington and Newcastle Staffs 2, next month.
They have also reached the quarter-finals of the Shield competition and will travel to Polska Przychodnia Intervolley Manchester on January 27.

“But we are hoping he will return later in the year. He is our best middle hitter and received most of the MVP awards so far this season.
“We have signed Adam Kupka from Hull though. He was their best player, so he is a major signing for us.”
