Motorists are being urged to take care as roads across the Isle will be salted tonight due to plummeting temperatures.

A number of priority routes will be effected by the gritting set to take place from around 6pm.

North Lincolnshire Council only takes such action when the temperatures are due to drop below a prescribed ‘safe’ level.

A tweet from the council’s highways department said: “Gritting 23 Nov: Temps to fall below freezing this evening full precautionary salting to commence at 18:00hrs. Drive with care”
